Choose from over 1,000 hours of free seatback entertainment and onboard Wi-Fi.
Delta Air Lines
Delta Air Lines' free in-flight entertainment system, Delta Studio, features top-notch movies, TV shows, and games. Paired with Delta Sync, which creates a more personalized seatback entertainment experience, and free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members on most flights, it offers passengers ample ways to pass the time. You can check out all the available movies and shows on Delta's website before departure, but bear in mind that Delta Studio streaming on personal devices is no longer available.
Keep reading to learn all about Delta's in-flight entertainment so you can maximize your time in the sky.
The majority of Delta planes currently have entertainment systems, with more than 165,000 seatback screens available across its fleet of more than 970 aircraft. And it's not just any seatback screen system. Delta Sync allows passengers who join the free SkyMiles program to customize their in-flight entertainment experience via the Fly Delta app to make it feel more like a smart TV.
"Customers are loving our new personalized Delta Sync seatback screens — and they especially appreciate how easy it is to log in to the screen using the Fly Delta app," Ranjan Goswami, senior vice president of customer experience design, shared in a statement. "Just by being a SkyMiles member, customers can log in to a seatback screen that recognizes them, knows their preferences and helps effortlessly guide them throughout their travel day."
To stream Delta Studio content, all you need to do is turn on the seatback screen in front of you. The screen does require wired headphones, but don't worry if you don't have any since flight attendants will offer them. If you prefer to use your own wireless headphones, you can pack a Bluetooth transmitter to plug into the headphone jack. While you can use the Delta app to access Wi-Fi and personalize the screen with Delta Sync, the airline no longer offers Delta Studio streaming on individual devices.
Screens are currently available on all Airbus A321ceo, Boeing 757-200 (75D) aircraft, Airbus A319s and A320s, and most of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Delta Studio lets travelers choose from up to 300 movies and options from HBO, Paramount+, MasterClass, and 18 channels of live satellite television. There are also podcasts, games, and thousands of songs available. And if you prefer to watch the flight path on the map, it's been upgraded too.
Delta no longer offers Delta Studio on personal devices, but its improved Wi-Fi allows users to stream their own content on their phone, tablet, or laptop. Currently, 90 percent of domestic flights are equipped with free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members, and the airline says it's committed to making Wi-Fi free for everyone across its global fleet. Streaming-capable connectivity will soon be available across Delta's fleet of regional jets and on its Boeing 717 fleet in the coming years. To access the Wi-Fi, all users need to do is open their phone or device, turn on airplane mode, turn on Wi-Fi, and select the DeltaWiFi.com network. If it does not open, travelers can go directly to DeltaWiFi.com to connect.
